ME
Who am I? Well That is a good question? I suppose you would like some statistics. Okay here we go.
I was married once. We raised five children. I think that they turned out great. Though not because of me they were already great. They thought it was cool when they found out that I didn’t only cook and clean but that I have a BA in Chemistry. They also thought it was weird that I studied to be a body worker and worked as a massage therapist while studying accounting. I am glad we all survived that. Although my marriage didn’t. But that ending turned out to be a good thing too.
As you may have figured I am not young. I am in my early 60s. My philosophy is that since I am so old that If I wake up in the morning it is my birthday! The first day of the rest of my life. I ask, “What great adventure can I go on today?”
Well most days my is to go to work at my bookkeeping job. You think bookkeeping is not an adventure? Yeah it is, you would be surprised. Another adventure which started recently is being a grandmother. It is one that takes some settling into.
Hmm, what else? Yes, I have some health issues. Yes, I have had some bad experiences. Yes, I have read many many self-help books, taken a few classes, and over all spent a lot of time trying to figure out who I am and how to fix my problems. Yes, I am an introvert, which makes all the reading understandable.
What are my credentials? They come mostly from the school of hard knocks. What I do is pass along information I have discovered helps in understanding things that happen in life. My goal is to point people in the direction of other credentialed individuals who have information that is valuable in coping with life. And to share how it has helped me. Not so easy in this pop up life style the world is engaging in.
Hard knocks you ask? Yes my most recent challenge is to navigate the world as a Deaf individual. In 2018 I experienced “Sudden Hearing Loss”. After parking I was crossing the street to go to work when it happened. They said, “it was probably a virus”. Being profoundly Deaf has been life changing.
